Marriage Series: How to make your marriage work

With the eruptions of new weddings occuring the past few seasons, I thought it would be important to dig into the Virtue archives and re-feature the marriage series.

So . . . Here it is!

There's truly nothing more exciting than experiencing your wedding day and celebrating with those you love.

You walk down the aisle, recite your vows, party the night away and then what?

What does it truly take to make the transition from two unique individuals to one loving, happy, supportive, and most importantly healthy couple.

With so much talk about divorce, separation, and just the lack of wanting to get hitched, I thought it would be fun to do a series on "How to make your marriage work."

Before you click off in disappointment because you haven't found that Mr. Right just yet, I assure you these articles will be just as beneficial for you as it will be for those dating (considering), engaged, newly married, and those who have been married for a while.

The topics will include:
Week 1:  Is marriage bad?
Week 2:Marry for the right reasons
Week 3: Prepare or refresh your marriage by getting educated
Week 4: Create and sign a marriage contract
Week 5: Discuss finances and make a plan
Week 6: Communication

and so on . . .

I hope you will make it part of your Friday routine to check out the marriage series and pass it on to your friends.

Marriage doesn't have to be a bad thing. When we're educated and prepared, it can be one of the most joyous things in life.

  2. You're so right and this is a great topic for a series that I'll definitely be reading. I'm not married yet, but have seen someone close to me go through a divorce this year and it's SO sad and stressful for them. I think some people are so down on marriage but I can't wait until that day comes because you're so right it can be one of the most joyous things in life

    Have a great weekend....
