Happy random Tuesday!
Today's "random" feature comes from the "Oh the places we will go," segment.
If there's anything my husband and I love to do its to eat great food and travel to amazing places.
The first gorgeous locale I want to share with you, my lovely readers, is Sonoma County, California.
If you're in dire need of a place to kick your heels up and relax, this is definitely the place. It's like a Swedish massage for your soul.
When I first heard we were going on a wine tasting trip, I must admit I wasn't at all excited. Truthfully, the only reason I embarked on the journey was due to my love and infatuation with the great state of California.
After a tiring flight to San Francisco, we arrived at our first destination which also doubled as our accommodations for the week of our visit; The Arrowood Winery. We were greeted with an amazing tour and my very first wine tasting class.

At first I was bored out of my mind, watching everyone sniff their wine and wondering why on Earth they kept doing it. I mean who smells their drinks? My husband just laughed at me and explained to me the process and significance of being able to distinguish wine. I still wasn't sold but I knew I probably should get my act together and at least try to indulge in the afternoon's activity.
In no time at all, I learned wine etiquette and found myself swirling and smelling for the faint aromas each blend embodied. I was officially apart of "Wine Society."
For the duration of our week long trip, we had the privilege of staying at the private Arrowood home nestled in the mountains of the property. It was an experience like no other. As we pulled up to the home, I almost died. It had my name written all over it. I'm thoroughly disappointed that I can't find the pictures to share, but take my word, it was gorg! Four luxurious bedrooms, three formal dining rooms, three separate living areas, a gourmet kitchen, complete wrap around deck equipped with rocking chairs, a spectacular garden, pool, and so much more!
If you've never taken a trip to the Sonoma/Napa area, let me recommend that you make it your next priority. In total we visited about seven wineries for tastings and food pairings that will be remembered for a lifetime. Some of my favorites were Kendall Jackson, Matanzas Creek, and Verite.
The quaint town is nestled in between beautiful mountains, sprawling vineyards, and gorgeous gardens. Here are just a few pictures from our trip. Enjoy!

So let's raise our glasses to many travels and the good life!
Cheers!
I smiled when I saw your pic...you two are too cute! I like the idea of wine and all the health benefits...I find I'm overwhelmed by all the choices in the market...they all look so good...but don't always taste so good. Michigan is considered a piece of wine country, which is nearby for me. I did some wine tasting last year, it was fun. Good job on the pictures, I'm ready to pack my bags!

Hey love! I agree. My husband is an expert on wines because he works at an amazing resort. He's always talking about the grapes and yada yada yada and I'm like your speaking gibberish. I don't care about the grapes. lol. I tend to stick to the sweeter wines. I love a great Moscato. I'll only do reds if I must.
DeleteFun post! This trip sounds like it was so much fun! I would love to be a wine connoisseur! One day soon hopefully!

It was a blast! The only thing about drinking a lot of wine is it tends to turn your teeth an unattractive brown color. I don't know this from personal experience. lol. I know a wine sommelier.
DeleteThis trip sounds so fun! I don't know why, but I've always wanted to visit San Francisco, so I guess you can say I've had California on my mind as well! This looks like it was a fun and relaxing trip!

Hey lady! Our second leg of this trip was actually to San Francisco. We stayed for about 3-4 days. My advice, don't rent a car. Total waste and parking is a fortune!
DeleteYou must had great time there! Those photos look amazing:):)Nice place:)

Thanks Yuli! Hehe. I love them too. I really want to take a trip to Santa Barbara and bike ride to the different wineries. That would be a great experience.
DeleteThat looks really nice and relaxing. Last time I went to a winery I was pregnant and could not partake ;). Still fun all the same. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLol oh no. Yeah at the moment no wineries for me. I can't wait to get back out there and travel.

ReplyDeleteI recently did a review on a pretty Lulu's dress, hope you will stop by and check it out, Thanks!
The place looks awesome and you seem to have had a terrific time. Visited a winery at Napa Valley a couple of years ago and seeing your pictures reminded me of the fun I had back then. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a memorable experience. Just the knowledge you gain, the environment, and of course the wine, is so awesome!
DeleteVaya sitio bonito.
ReplyDeleteBesos.
I am from California and love the Napa area, although I have only been once since I live in Southern California. Your photos are so great. Napa and Sonoma are both such pretty and serene places to visit. I can't wait to go back.
ReplyDeleteOh So Cal! I love that area. I actually love all of California. I've been campaigning for my husband to let us relocate for the past two years. So far zero success. LOL

Thanks Celyne
DeleteLooks gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. I hope to visit there someday. xo
ReplyDeleteIt really is worth the trip. I'd recommend about 1-2 wineries a day. One in the early afternoon and then maybe a wine/food pairing in the evening.
