The Look for Wayy Less: White shirt dress edition

Spring has sprung and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than to don a "classic white shirt" dress.

I couldn't be more excited about this classic piece being one of Spring's go to styles. It's a nice break from the brights and neons, to a more clean, crisp finish. It screams Audrey Hepburn and Diane Keaton. Don't you just love them?

If you've been in the market like I have, I'm sure you noticed most of the white "Shirt dresses" of quality have some pretty steep price points; one of my favorites retails for around $245.

Now I'm a woman who loves her clothing, but not enough to spend $245 on a dress that I'd have to purchase in a size that wouldn't fit my post baby body in two and a half months.

So what's a girl to do?

Random Tuesdays: A trip to Wine County

Happy random Tuesday!

Today's "random" feature comes from the "Oh the places we will go," segment.

If there's anything my husband and I love to do its to eat great food and travel to amazing places.

The first gorgeous locale I want to share with you, my lovely readers, is Sonoma County, California.

Find your inspiration!

Source
Hello lovelies!

It's an exciting day here at "A Piece of Virtue."

Why? You ask.

Because I've been asked to guest post over on the lovely blog "House of Hemingway."

The House Lady over there is wonderful and I'm more than honored to have been asked to write on a topic that I believe in with all my heart.

Visit me there, show her some love, and be ready to find what inspires you!
See you soon.

Styling Saturdays: Create a style that's all your own

Source

It's no secret that fashion blogs are dominating the internet and changing the face of the industry forever.

They're everywhere you turn, becoming a plague that I'll call style leprosy.

With so many options to visit and gawk over, it's becoming increasingly harder to distinguish our own personal style with that of some gorgeous fashionista we follow religiously on the web.

I'm not trying to throw down the fashion gavel because I'm just as guilty as charged. I love clicking through to new sites and salivating over the meticulously styled outfits; the vibrant colors, glossy shots, and always Ah-mazing shoes!

I mean what's not to adore?

Lovely Lace & Blushing Pink

I truly adore all things girly.

From vintage housewife dresses, to dainty bows, pastels, polka-dots, pearls, over-sized hats,  and lots and lots of lace.

With the emergence of pastels and all around lady-like glamor this season, I find myself scrambling to snatch up all my favorites before they're gone. I've renamed this season, "The Season of Vonae," because I've never found so many pieces that are completely me. (This has simply never happen before. Ohh 2012 how I love you already!)

For today's outfit post, I paired an old white dress with a blush colored tank and a lovely lace top that I found on a recent outing. I hope you enjoy!

Asian themed birthday party!!

Hey everyone!

In honor of Tuesdays, the day of the week that seems to just "be," I've decided to do a feature called "Random Tuesdays." Usually I take a break from writing and creating on Tuesdays but there's so much I want to share I figured why not?

Appreciate the small things.

I'm so excited to be back from my little birthday hiatus.

Although it's only been four days, it's felt like an eternity for me.

Could I be obsessed?

I think not . . .

The Look for WAYY less.

I'm really excited about this post.

On a daily basis, I look at tons and tons of fashion magazines. I literally get two or three in the mail everyday that get thrown on top of my "to look at" pile. One thing I really love about looking at these awesome glossies, is the variety of outfits they feature.

As I page through, I dismantle them one by one, pulling page after page of things I want to recreate. Being a savvy shopper, I always find myself laughing at the featured "Look for less" articles because more times than none, the outfit still costs nearly two hundred bucks!

Sorry but that's not really less.

So with that mind frame, I decided to do a feature called "The Look for WAYY less."

Be careful what you say . . .

Source
Today we're talking about the way we use our words and unless you've been living under a rock your entire life, I'm sure you've heard of the saying,

"Be careful what you wish for (or say), it just may come true."

Or have said,

"Don't say that, you'll jinx me!"

These may seem like everyday common sayings to most of us, but if it were that simple, why do they hold so much weight?

How to age with grace

Source
Age . . .

It catches up to all of us at one time or another, although we can still remember our good ole high school days.

Oh the eminence of our youth . . .

A time when we didn't have to actually go to the gym to look amazing. It just happened.

Or what about the stuffing of our face just because we could. Our size two jeans would still fit perfectly; bring on the donuts, brownies, and ice-cream!

Those were truly the glory days.

Styling Saturdays: Learn to thrift hunt like a stylist.

Every stylist and fashionista alike knows the key to having an impeccable wardrobe and style begins with mixing old with new.

Even fashion designers know this very secret. Why do you think they spend so much time researching fashions of the past only to make them new again; putting their own little twist on a favorite look that's decades old. If you're looking for true vintage (not just something that looks vintage) these are the places you want to be.

Keep healthy space in your relationship.

As I write this, I'm feeling a little hypocritical. It's not that I don't believe what I'm writing because I absolutely do.

It's just that my husband has had a consecutive five days off this week (which absolutely never happens) and I've hung out with him almost every waking hour of that time.

We've spent our days doing multiple DIY projects for our home and for a birthday gift, hunting consignment stores, painting our little one's nursery, and just randomly driving around town finding new places to eat. (Eating is what we do best).

Be uniquely you . . . NOT someone else.

Have you ever tried to be someone else?

The popular girl.

The stylish one.

The famous starlet.

The novelist that gets all her books published. (Lucky her!)

The woman that everyone envies?

Styling Saturdays: Love what you buy or leave it on the rack.

Oh the joys of shopping . . .

There's nothing better than a little retail therapy to make life a little more happier. As I was reading an article on Spring cleaning by the lovely Lola from Bee. You. Tiful. You I came across an all too familiar problem most women face;

We have things in our closets we haven't worn in months,

or worse years!

10 ways to keep the LOVE in your relationship

If you're a hopeless romantic like me, it can be way too easy to fall in love. All it takes is that first stroll on the beach, sweet text messages before bed, or a surprise visit from your beau with your favorite latte right when you needed it the most to send your heart spiraling down lover's lane.

It's those little things that make us fall in love in the first place and boy do we fall fast. The reality is that as fast as we can fall in love, we can fall out of love just as quick.

As I fall in love with my husband more and more each day, I pondered just exactly what it is we do in order to stay in love. I came up with ten things that I hope you'll enjoy and maybe implement. Here they are!

To follow?

Everyday I spend hours reading blogs by amazing women and writers that I've come across online. I truly cherish the websites I've found and the online community it's created. While it gives me tons to read, it also gives me a way to support those women I know are working hard and striving to put out their very best just like me.

On my blog hop today I came across an article originally from Casey Leigh that was re-posted by a newer blog that I follow A Girl in Transit that I thought I'd share with all of you. So without further ado:
